About Me
Hi, I’m Jamie
I’m a wife and mom (to both humans and dogs), a passionate cook, and a National Board-certified Health and Wellness Coach. I love to travel, host dinner parties, and really, all things food. Recently diagnosed with celiac disease and Hashimoto’s, I’ve had to learn some new tricks in the kitchen and change the way I dine out. I’ll be honest: when my doctor said that I have celiac and would need to switch to a gluten-free lifestyle permanently, my first thought was, “No big deal, pasta, bread, and baked goods aren’t my thing, anyway.” And then, when I started actively eliminating gluten, I realized that it is in everything. At first, it was overwhelming: what manufactured GF products were good, which ones weren’t, what has “hidden” gluten, and where to eat out? I made it my mission to find out what was good and what wasn’t and how I could enjoy food and cooking the same way I always have.
Mission Statement
Welcome to Gluten Free Girly. Whether you’re newly diagnosed with a gluten intolerance or are simply looking for a new resource, I’m happy you’re here. I aim to test all of the manufactured GF products and share with you which ones have the best taste and texture, cleanest ingredients, and perform closest to their gluten counterparts. An advocate of a whole-food lifestyle, I’m sharing many of my tried-and-true recipes, some of which were already gluten-free, to help with that age-old question, “What’s for dinner?”. I’m also testing and developing GF recipes to replace all gluten-rich things we love. Going gluten-free isn’t easy; it takes knowledge, resources, and willpower, but your body will thank you. I invite you to join us on this journey. The goal is to cultivate a community of shared support, friendship, resources, and education.
