One of 13 children and one of 20 grandchildren of the same grandparents. Since father&#8217;s brother married mother&#8217;s sister, the seven cousins were &#8220;double cousins.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Active in assisting DNRT in the preservation of the history of the &#8220;Potter\/Helfand&#8221; house where the family lived.<\/p>\n<p>Attends Dartmouth Historical &amp; Arts Society meetings and shares detailed from her life experiences in WWII. Brother Milton Helfand was killed in battle &amp; brother Howard Helfand was wounded.
